A/C Question
« on: Aug 05, 2005, 12:44:20 PM »
On my 85 4runner (22re) the first two a/c settings don't work, but on levels 3 and 4 the a/c works fine.  Are there individual fuses for each setting?  Any help would be appreciated.

Is it just when the ac is on, or does it do the same thing with the heater too? May be the blower switch is bad.

check the fuse that is physically on the fan motor, you can access it if you pull the glove box all the way down to the floor, its covered by a small black cover, should be a 15 amp, if not, then the fan itself has become coroded on the low speed settings, remove, clean, reinstall, or replace it--hope this helps

If it is the fan that will only run at certain settings, it is the resistor that has gone bad. It is located under the glove box on the housing around the heater core as I remember.

Thank you for the input.......both the heater and a/c don't work on the first two settings.  I will plan on replacing the resistor.  Have a great weekend.
