this was posted on another forum a while back. it was a concern regardin the wall trail.

Hi Mike- we met on last Saturday up near the top of the Town Wall. I was
the park ranger putting up signs. Could you please mention at the cleanup
something about throwing things off of the town wall? I suspect that the
people at the clean up are not the people doing it, it's the folks who dump
stuff, shoot everything and cut trees down, but it wouldn't hurt to get the
word out.

Technically unless it is an ORV area, ORV's are not allowed in State Parks
so that's why I've posted that last 500' of the town wall road as closed to
ORV's. I've been here almost 6 years and have not done that yet, but now
because of the garbage being thrown over, trees being cut down and other
damage I felt I must. So I will be enforcing that and I will ticket folks I
find have driven onto State Park Property. I don't want to be doing that,
but I can't allow climbers to be endangered and park trees to be cut down,
etc. Please pass this onto folks and the real danger of throwing things
(even bottles and cans) off of the Town Wall. If someone below gets hit by
something, someone tossed over the side not only is the "tosser" subject to
citations but could also be held personally liable.

As to your efforts about getting the area officially designated as an ORV
area, I think if you could organize some sort of advisory committee just for
the area and create some sort of "self-policing" structures it might help
your cause a lot. Some land areas have groups that go around spreading the
word about regulations, posting signs and having "patrols" to advise users
or when necessary call law enforcement. Getting basic rules and regulations
across would be a lot easier if they came from you guys rather than down
from the DNR. I know it would take a lot of effort but I think ultimately
that's what it will take. There are sooo many violations of regulations and
laws going on in that area right now that I think only that sort of
intensive volunteer effort is going to safeguard ORV use there. I am really
surprised there hasn't been a lawsuit to close the area so far. Anyway-
just my thoughts. Thank you for your efforts at cleaning up the area and
please pass my thanks on to the rest of the Association.

Yeah for the clean up I will be in a full size ford lifted on 35"s. Hopefully it works out okay. Im taking this truck's offroad virginity! It is registered as commercial use only and it says Limback Lumber on the side and has a lumber rack. I have flexed it out once and it wasnt too bad. The yoat won't be running so I cant take that.
