My truck was busted in to ..........
« on: May 06, 2005, 07:50:35 PM »
< guess this fit's here>
So I'm at the bar grabbing some grub    with a Friend  at a local bar i have been going to for 8 years.  Now this bar is in a 80% white hood  + it is a buzzy bar/good food  allways people  in th lot  well lite.

So it's raining out cold bla bla   we go to leave  and i get in  the truck  ( I'm feeling good)   and i notice something not right   :headscratch:   the passenger window is gone  + my Cd's  and a scanner from the glove box that dose not work :shake:

Call the cops   what every  bla bla  ( all studering and laughing and crap  :beerchug: )

Whats funny is  the rear slider lock is gone   all U have to do is open the window and unlock the door :smack:
They got 20 Cd's 100$ maybe of old school heavymetal   nothing new at all  and a bearcat scanner with missing pieces  that has not been used in 5yrs.  And to top it off MY $275 digital camera  is laying on the floor still there

They pride the window  to break the glass   which is the only thing that sucks  omg i got to get new glass o no :help: :twocents:

NOOBs

And like I don't care  not mad or sad or violated or anything  is like what ever  Noob and i'm still

That really sucks.  Somebody last week smashed all the windows out of a 1963 scout that my grandpa gave me.  I know how you feel.

i got my whole truck stolen before it sucked. they got about $2,000 worth of stereo equipment and a few hundred dollars worth of clothes and my $300 oakleys, fawking basterds. they also took some of the stupidest stuff, like my spark plug wires, floor mats a battery that i pretty much had to jump every morning  :haha:  wont do them any good, they also took my school binder and my senior project portfolio which really sucked cause i lost all my home work my discks with eveything on it and my senior prject stuff that was about 4 months worth of work that i had to do all over. they really screwed me. you got lucky. its like they were purposelly trying to bust up my :pokinit: they put about 4 dents in it, maybe they were just upset cause i left it completely on empty for them

heres my strategy... ready for this.... keep the doors unlocked!!!  this is how i figure it.  if someone sees an old beat-up truck with the doors unlocked, they'll think.  "There must not be anything worth while in there."  So they just bypass it.

Agreed.  I make my stuff stupid easy to steal and its right in plain sight behind the seats.  I dont even have a passenger door window and the x-cab windows are plexi.  No problems with anyone even looking at my junk. go figure.

I used to have an old Datsun that I left the keys in with the windows down. It sat for a whole summer in downtown Seattle & nobody ever touched it. They loved breaking into my Ford truck that sat right next to it though. Lost 2 windows in one summer. :smack:

I burn all my CDs then put the burned copies into my truck.  that way if I scratch tem, or get dust on them, or they get stepped on, or dropped, it doesnt matter, and if they get stolen, even with a hundred CDs I'm out what, $10 bucks mabye, and some time :dunno:

I would rather have a busted window than a stolen rig!!  At least they didn't take anything important.  I had my el camino broke into once.  Stole a pair of cheap 12" subs and a crappy radar detector that only went off on buildings with security systems.  They left the $400 amp laying there, hunting rifle, the other set of boxed speakers and the stereo that was just stuffed into the dash!  They were so stupid, they used a lighter to burn through the wires for the radar instead of just unplugging it from the cig lighter :hammerhead:  I keep cheap stereo sytem in my truck now!  I buy the old tape decks, and use a wally mart special portable cd player, and el cheapo speakers.  The most expensive item in my truck is my mag lite.   Oh! I almost forgot, somebody tried to break into my alum toolbox one time, couldn't get in to it.  But they didn't notice that it was only held in by a tie down!

Someone tried to jimmy mine open at work the other day, not much in there, but they pried the plastic up pretty well, but didnt get in.

:dunno:  I'm not sure.  I dont think so though.  Get an ammo can, or a toolbox.

A friend had an amp box that fit behind his seats (89 reg cab)  that he put a door into, overextending hinges on the inside, and a cashbox lock, you could do something like that

My truck has a POS cassette player in the dash, all upgrades are hidden so if anyone takes a peak all they see is the unwanted cassette player and a POS Radio Shack CB. I don't leave anything they'd want in veiw including CD's, leather jackets and the like.
