I heard that in a few weeks cell phone numbers will be released to telemarketing companies and you will start getting sales calls.  You will lose minutes and possibly incur charges for these calls.  To prevent this from happening, call the following number from your cell phone: 1-888-382-1222.  It is the National Do Not Call registry.  It will block your number for five years.

I did the same thing for my home number and it seemed to help, once your number is released it take a few months for the calls to slow/stop.

how many calls do you think youll get in the 31 days...they will probably take advantage of that time while they can still call you. i wont register untill someone calls mel.
i wonder if theyer gonna be 1-800 or show up as a blocked #...i dont answer either anyway.

that's one of the great things about caller id.If I don't reckonize the number i don't answer.My minutes are valuable and im not about to waste them on some dumb tryin to give me a credit card or sell me a trip to disneyland.I've done the over the minutes thing and i am not about to give up another $700

same here if its not a family emergency or work related I dont answer my cell, I wont waiste minutes. my voicemail is full of unanswered calls because it costs minutes to call voicemail too.

that's why i use a land line to check my voice mail unless it's after nine o'clock

My cell phone is my primary phone, but unless I am expecting a call from a certain #, if you aint in my phone book, I'm not answering
