Motor Swap?
« on: Apr 17, 2005, 08:42:48 PM »
How easy/difficult would it be to put Toyota's 3.4 v6 in a 1983 four-banger truck? I have 5.29 gears with 15 inches of lift and 40 inch high ground hawg tires. I am looking for a bigger motor and I was wondering what would be the easiest swap. I am trying toi stick to a toyota motor instead an American v8. So what would be a good motor upgrade? All-aluminum block lexus v8? 3.4L toyota v6? Straight 6 supra motor(Turbo or non-turbo?)? 4.7L tundra v8? Any ideas and help would be great!
Thanks,
Pete Kupfer

of the one's you named, I think the ezest would be the supar I-6, butt it will eat your trans.

I like the idea of the 3.4, butt man that would be some work.

Downy makes a 4.3 chev V-6 swap kit.  :dunno:

your you could do like mikey and put the taco motor in! that would be sweet!
A good day working, that's just sick :reg:

Damn bro, the fact that you are asking for the easiest of those is already a bad sign...none are cake.  Easy swap is the 4.3 v6 or upgrade to an LC Engineering engine for bout 30--40 more ponies.  The Supra motor prob has the most swap support of those named...the aluminum lexus v8 would be super pimp...

I think BF is right though...   :_oops:   Big MIke to aisle 5, Big Mike to aisle five for cleanup...
IFS is best kept at ambient temperature in a pile of scrap in the backyard.  When kept under a functioning vehicle, it tends to greatly diminish said vehicle's offroad ability.     -reklund5
