I've been thinking about sticking a york somewhere under the hood of my 88 pickup, 22RE w/ AC. I want to retain the AC though. I don't really look forward trying to jam it in there, so I've looked into alternatives...sanden compressor maybe?... and an ExtremeAire mounted under the bed with a tank. I'm leaning towards the ExtremeAire, but I'm concerned about exposing it to the elements. Anyone have any suggestions, ideas, thoughts, beer, or experience with any of this? :chug: :thumb:

Maintaining a belt should be less expensive than putting an expensive pump under the truck. I am not sure how Bud is doing his. Marlin mounted his york ages ago on the drivers side. He used a very small pulley. Not much wider than the york, if not the same size. Maybe BigMike will post a pic?

 You could convert your AC to one.  But remember you hvae to keep them oiled by an outside oiler in between the air intake and the pump.

Yeah, I could convert the AC pump, but I want to keep it. Cold is good when it's hot outside.

I would like to see how Marlin mounted his York on the Driver's side. I was checking out the space availiable today and there ain't much...maybe less than on the passenger side. Pics, pics??

Yep. I saw those and have considered them. However, the way it mounts the York doesn't leave a lot of belt contact on the factory AC unit. I'd be worried that it would slip a lot making the air conditioning a "now you have it, now you don't" type of affair.  

Has anyone used Bud's kit with success?

Does anyone have a York other than the 210 and dislike it? I'm thinkng a mini-York might be the ticket for under the hood :thumb:

the extremeair is great.  4cfm and true continuous duty.

WIth 5 gallons of air its a great tool.
