Got a new MC08 because I didn't want to deal with another bearing failure on the old style advance adapter that came on this truck. So I need to transfer over the bolt that holds the spring for the shift rail detent, the one that's like a button head allen bolt. Well the hex stripped out and I had to use vise grips to get it off. Now I need a new one...

My local hardware store only has the regular socket cap screws which have a narrower head, and I suppose that might be ok, but they don't carry those in m10 anyway  :smack:  Checked the website here and they sell the detent ball and the spring, but not the bolt. Does anybody know where else to find this? Toyota part number? Will a regular socket cap screw be ok even though the head is more narrow? If I can even find that at any hardware stores near me... M10 1.25 thread pitch, about a half inch long...

How much would shipping be? Last time I tried to order a single detent ball on your website it said shipping was like $20...

That still seems way too much to ship a tiny bolt, so I'll pass. I appreciate you checking though.

Also on the website for the shift spring it says to use a thread sealant such as loctite hi-tack gasket sealant, what other options can you recommend?

No problem at all.

Any thread sealant should work just fine. That is just an example.
