Topic: 79 Hilux with 94 22RE exhaust question

Hi everyone-

I know you can all read the title, but I have a 79 pickup with a 94 22RE and I am having trouble with the exhaust. I just picked up an OBX header and it is unable to be mounted because it has interference with the rear mount for the front leaf.

My question is this: was this header made for an IFS truck and that's why it's hitting the rear mount for the leaf? Do they make headers for the 22RE that don't interfere with leafs?

I'm in the same boat, Looking for a header that will fit my 1980 pickup 4x4 with a newer 22r.  LCE told me their header will not fit due to the frame rails being narrower.  I'm sure there's plenty of people with this combo running headers on a first get 4x4 with newer engine block.

I have a LCE header on the 22re in my 1980. I had to take the heat shield off the frame, then it fit fine
