MC08 Coupler Question
« on: Jan 12, 2021, 12:13:14 PM »
So I get the low speed gear slips onto the MC08 coupler and also gets a detent ball and thrust washer. However, does the snap ring, retainer ring, pressure plate, and ďsynchroĒ also get installed with the low speed gear or does that need to be removed from the gear prior to being installed on the coupler? I might have the nomenclature wrong or not understanding what the parts purposes are for but the Marlin installation instruction donít really address and it and Trail Gear shows it being installed without it. Just not sure what the correct set up is! Iím referring to whatís left of the low speed gear once itís pulled off the main shaft.

Yes thatís the instructions where it dosent really address the question.

Apparently itís part of the ďquiet runĒ gear assembly. It is not required but is also not necessary to disassemble prior to installation. Iím guessing it adds a little bit of preload to keep the gears meshed in a quiet pattern for them run together. If anyone else has info Iíd appreciate it. Case is fully assembled and ready to drop in my rig!
