Hello I am the owner of a 1982 pickup 4x4 and need a little assistance.  This is 22R motor, 5 speed SWB 3 inch lift.

I have done a lot of work to this truck but my current problem has me a little worried.  Basically as the engine spins from 3000 to 4000 RPM any gear there is harsh vibration in the cab.  Pretty bad noise.  The noise goes away above 4000 but I have not gone much higher than that.

Here is the rundown on this vehicle:  Shows 400,000 KM(250,000 miles) seller said motor was rebuilt.  Compression check is 160, 160, 158, 148 PSI so I'm pretty happy with that.  The plugs when removed were clean.  Engine is stock as far as I know, carb and exhaust manifold.  Exhaust is new.  All vacuum lines, heater and rad hoses new, water pump and rad new.  Engine runs a little rough and will barely hold 60 MPH on the level highway.  It has 31 inch rubber.

My plan is get truck running well and do a body job on the truck.  Not a total nut and bolt restoration but a nice driver truck.
