So, I'm whackin' weeds, neighbor comes over to complain about the noise, she uses electric everything 'cause she cares. Here's the HUH? part, she says, 'You wouldn't have to do that if you did it last month. I told her if I had done it last month I still would have done it. Her reply was 'No you wouldn't'. I told her with all the rain we had I'd still be doing it today as more weeds would have grown by now, then pointed out the young weeds. Please go home. I cranked up the whacker and put the strings in the dirt, she left.

People are weird. Let her come to my place in february, march, april, may and june. In february the weeds are barely getting started. In march I start to knock em back, again in april and again in may. Come june... I have to knock em down again or, as I have started doing when the rains cause them to get out of control, I take a flat shovel and lightly skim the dirt and toss it all in the bin over a few weeks. Bare ground in the spring attracts new growth like a fit but homely neighbor girl sun tanning attracts the neighbor boys.
