Baby tires
« on: Feb 01, 2020, 05:15:16 PM »
Yep! Gonna get some baby tires for my DD.  235/75r/15. Just don’t know what’s the best option. Will be driving to work and back. Do t want to spend a large dime, but want a descent road tire.

I have Toyo Open Country HT's on my "commuter" RAV4 and am very happy with them. 3.5 years, over 15,000 miles, and they still look in great condition (though it helps that the RAV4 lives in the garage). They've been good in rainstorms, and also have seen some dirt roads.

What sort of vehicle, weather, and price restrictions do you have?

I checked that the Open Country HT's do appear to come in 235/75 R15 before I posted. Sorry, I don't remember the exact tire size on my RAV4 (I'd be happy to get the numbers tomorrow, when it's warm enough to walk to the garage, if that helps at all), but I recall that the dealer put bigger rims and tires on it, and some other accessories, because it was one of the last 3rd gens on the lot and it wasn't selling, so it does not have the standard tire size.

I have some 235/75r15 on my scout. they are cooper trendsetters that came with the vehicle when I picked it up like 5 years ago. they have been ok but they are very much a budget tire(much like the Goodyear wrangler radial). the scout sits most of the time but will drive it to town or mild trail use.

When it comes to replace tires ill be getting something else besides the trendsetters but not sure what that is.

I had a set of Nexen Roadian HTX RH5 on my rig. These nexen tires did great on dry highway driving, although wet traction wasn't impressive. Very smooth and quiet on the pavement. I got 50k miles out of them which I think not too bad.
