Help me plan a quick Cali trip?
« on: Jan 30, 2020, 01:19:22 PM »
Hey all!  Need to be in Anaheim in July for a work conference.  Have a good friend in San Diego who really wants us to spend a couple days with her.  And husband REALLY wants to see some big trees.  Haha.  Thinking Sequoia National Park would be the closest bet for that?  Is it possible or to squeeze this all in to like 9 days?   All I know is I HAVE to be in Anaheim Sunday, Monday, and most of Tuesday.  lol.  Any thoughts from those of you familiar?  Maybe we either need to choose the friend or the trees?   lol.   Thanks!  :wiggle:
RIP Kyle, we love and miss you man.  :smooch:
thanks for the smooch I miss you too !  :yesnod:

Jan, I don’t see why you couldn’t manage both those things in one trip!

Both should be doable, could likely be at Sequia National park Tuesday evening.  Spend 2 days at the park, and travel to SD on day 6.

Might consider seeing if your friend could meet you at the park, that way you can spend more time with her and at the park.

Jan, I see big trees in the woods nearly every time I go deer hunting, many in areas where the keyboard warriors like to claim they're all gone.  Just goes to show they don't actually get out there and look for themselves!

And has been said, I don't see why you couldn't get out and see whatever you're looking for.
RIP KYOTA

Thanks guys!   I believe we’ve decided to do it this way:
Fly into Anaheim on Saturday or Sunday
My conference is Monday and Tuesday
Wednesday morning take the train down to San Diego
Spend a couple days with my friend down there
Saturday morning fly from San Diego up to Fresno
At Fresno, rent a car and get settled in somewhere
Spend all day Sunday in Sequoia
Possibly Monday too?  Or spend Monday rolling around Fresno haha
Head home Tuesday

Woohooo!!   We’re excited!
RIP Kyle, we love and miss you man.  :smooch:

Calaveras Big Trees park.... They're pretty awesome but quite a drive from Fresno. Keep us in the loop, I'd love to see ya! I'm in the Tracy/East Bay Area, depending on the day

We won’t have nothin’ to wheel except a rental SUV!  Hahaha.  Come pick us up and take us!  :wiggle:

FFC we’d love to see you too!  Pretty well have all the plans finalized and reservations made.  So for sure Anaheim to San Diego to Fresno, and will definitely idly be in Sequoia National Park on Brian’s 40th birthday

Really nothing in Fresno, but, from there you can get Sequoia and Yosemite easily enough. Take a trip through Yosemite and take 395(?) to Mammoth and check out some of the geologic sites there, like fault cracks and the "Devil's post pile". There's several caverns along that range as well, north of Fresno. Big trees, big rocks and big holes in the ground can keep you busy for weeks. Do a little WEB surfing and pick-n-choose. My wife and I did a three day trip that took us to two caverns, Tahoe, Yosemite and Mammoth. Lots of miles! Even more things to see and do.
Brought to you by the WBC (World Billionaire's Club) because money is a bad thing. Let us carry that burden for you.

Sure it'll fit........ Just needs a little brute finesse.

Sure I believe intelligent life exists on other planets. Other planets, not this one.
