New poster long time lurker
« on: Jan 07, 2020, 02:41:43 AM »
Whats up guys?  Been a member of forum for several years,  usually just read.  I have  a 1980 Hilux 4wd short box live 40 miles North of Atlanta, and have been in the Toy Hobby since the late 90's.  I also have an 84 Celica Supra, 07 FJ 6 speed with rear locker, and ATRAC, 02 Camry 5 speed, 02 Sequoia 4wd, 1991 Corolla allltrac AWD. My 1980 has 4.30 gears factory elock out of late 90's Taco.  Just pulled my 20R and L43, and built a first generation 22R bore 20 over with 20R head, header, and I go between a 32/36 and 38 Webers.  Both rejeted, neither are right out of the box without a jet job.   Thank you marlin gor the great parts/service.  Thank you forum members for the useful info.   Michael

... 02 Camry 5 speed...

Hey.... A Toyota dude!!

Hmmm.... I didn't know Toyota manufactured a Camry with a stick shift (assuming your "5 speed" is not an automatic trans)??  :dunno:

Its the only one i've seen.  It was built in Japan, and I believe most were being built in the states at that time.  My Sister in-laws husband bought it new.  I've got to put a clutch in it soon.  Shop manuel says to drop subframe/engine to change, but I think I can strip out drivers fender well, pull axles, and slide tranny over and get it done.  Gonna be a job.

Got a couple new toys in the drive.  I picked up an 84 4runner tall deck 22r, and another T100 4wd 5 speed.  Pulled top end off 22r and put double roller chain and another 20r head on it.  It has a cheap pace setter header, and i redid the exhaust with a walker cat back.  Walker, and Bosal make catbacks for 86-89 4runners and they fit perfectly on 84-85.

I dont think I even mentioned the 1996 T100 I have had.  Its an automatic 4wd.  I just bought another with rusted frame but good engine and 5 speed tranny.  Gonna convert my daily to 5 speed and save on the motor for later.  I have complete 96 4wd body and interior (some oak some grey) if anyone needs anything.
