Marlin heavy duty 3.0 clutch on 5VZ with R151F
« on: Dec 18, 2019, 07:54:08 PM »
This is my first post here so hello. I am performing a 5VZ swap in my 92 4runner. I pulled the 3.0 out and dropped in the 5VZ using the marlin heavy duty 3.0 clutch kit with my 3VZ flywheel. I’m running a R151F trans with 3.0 bell housing and dual cases. I went to prime my new motor by cranking over and noticed slower cranking than expected with the plugs out. I attempted to turn over the engine by hand and can only get about a half turn in each direction. I know the motor turns smoothly because I did it on the stand. I used a borescope and I think I identified some rub marks on the pressure plate. I plan on pulling the trans to verify this weekend.

Does anyone no if this setup is an issue or have any recommendations for clutch and pressure plate options for my setup?

Thanks!
