we have a new to us 97 80 series. before i tell you the issues i am having, looks like someone has worked on the back side of the transfercase recently and both drive shaft seem to be new. initially i could not hear the cdl solenoid buzzing when shifting high to low, or low to high. removed solenoid and found someone had installed solenoid in the high position. after correcting the solenoid to low gear position now i can hear the solenoid buzzing when shifting the transfer case but cdl is still locked. could it be something is not installed right like the shifter shaft? or is their a something you have to put int he correct position before installing the solenoid?
