I have a trailer and gear weighed in at 1200 lb will stock gearing and 22r carburetor engine do okay? I'm going 40 miles both ways combined. Thank you everyone! I've learned a bunch since joining the group!

Shouldn't be a problem at all for the truck if it's in good shape. My trailer empty weighs 750 pounds and I use it all the time to haul stuff to the dump. Probably never towed more than 2000 pounds total weight but the truck always does fine. A little slower but not too bad. Cooling system never seemed taxed even with the A/C on. Just brake early and turn wide. Stock tires and gears on an 88 22RE PU 4x4.

I towed a 21 foot V-8 powered ski boat on a tandem axle trailer with my 85 22R standard cab and never had an issue. 

Just brake early and remember the trailer will want to push the back end of the truck around during heavy braking.

Make sure you air up your tires to adjust for the extra weight.
