Ever since Optima sent the manufacturing south the quality has been hit and miss for me.  My first lasted 12 years.  One after the manufacturing switch only lasted like 4.  My current blue top is on about year 9 and still ticking.

Same here had a red top lasted 6 years then on to another red top for 3 years then 3 yellow top all went bad in less then a year.  So now on to costco battery swap out every 2 years and extended warranty for another 2years and so and so. Basically swapping battery for new every 2 years.

I've had good luck with Interstate from Costco.

my #optima  red top lasted 4 years , before it melted and burnt up my truck .. and YES , the charging system was in PERFECT working condition .
don't buy optima
