5VZ M/T transfer case question
« on: Aug 20, 2019, 08:29:33 PM »
Is there a non shift on the fly "J" shift case for 5spd.
A friend has a 5speed swapped 04 quad cab. The case does not have synchro 2-4 shift.
Is case bad or just not synchro?
hold this. . .

I would think all cases have synchro in this day and age but I could be wrong. At least as far as Toyota stuff. I always find myself stopping before I put it in 4wd for some reason lol

I'm curious what your friends setup is. 2UZFE with a 5spd? If so I have the same type of build going. I'm pretty sure that all of the chain driven transfer cases in Toyotas are shift on the fly, but not sure about the earlier gear driven t cases which are known to be stronger.
