85 toyota lugs, jumps and dies in 4wd under a load
« on: Jul 20, 2019, 09:35:18 AM »
I have an 85 Toyota pickup, SA, 4.7 single case, 4.88 gears locked front and rear with square front drive shaft. Recently I was out at Hollister doing the tankntrap. While exiting the truck began to wheel hop and I gunned it up the hill hopping. After this the truck will now "jump" or lurch forward in 4wd when it gets under a load trying to crawl anything and will die unless I throttle it. Nothing was found broken in the axles. Wondering if this could be a transfer case issue or possibly fly wheel or clutch. It drives fine in 2wd.
