New to the forum/extreme 4 runner
« on: Apr 13, 2019, 03:22:39 PM »
hey there folks, new to the forum and wanted to say hi. I chose Marlin because I am  Toyota guy and i have read alot of information on here over the years. My vehicle is a 92 Runner. Swapped a 1jzgte in place of the gutless 3.0. My goal is to have an all around rig that can do the hills, the sand and the strip. Mods are single 62mm Borg Warner turbo, Haltech Elite 2000 ECU, Wiring Specialties tuck harness, Injector Dynamincs 1050x injectors, Radium fuel rail, Aeromotive Stealth fuel system, Toyota r150f 5 speed with Marlin Billet upgrades, Yukon 4.11 rear gears and Yukon LSD. I have not Changed the ratio in the front yet. (still a 4.88) that's coming soon. I want to be able to drive my truck to pretty much any event and be recognized. Hills, sand or strip. I already know it climbs. 4 low is a creeper. My best time on the strip is 12.40 @ 114mph. When i get the front swapped to 4.11 i will go rip in the sand with some paddles. I went with the 4.11 because i wanted better driveability on the highways and wheel speed on the strip and sand. Im hoping that the 150f will hold up to the abuse. otherwise i am looking at the 4l80e 6 speed. but so far so good. the engine makes over 500hp and tq. on e100 fuel. and revs to 7200. as soon as i can post pics for documentation i will. I have no problem sharing my info. with you guys. I have also developed some of my own adapters for transmissions, my other hobby is racing and drifting. feel free to ask me any questions.

must have fairly small tires to want those stocker gears huh?? sounds like an awesome build, definitely different approach than most builds.  majority of Toyotas accept the 110 horses and aim for reduction as a solution, IE "marlin crawler, rock crawling specialists".  would love to see some pictures.

I drive around town on 33s. race on 28s. it came factory with 4.88s, but yeah different for sure. Waiting for nice weather then i want to bolt on some paddles and play in the sand. I have had it in the hills and it didnt have any problems. Im not a rock crawler like most on here. Just a die hard Toyota guy. Thought i would mix it up a bit ha. So far it has either impressed or pissed off some people. The camaro guys watch me drive to the strip and swap to the drag tires and run faster than them. scratching their heads haha. kinda funny. But i can say this. That r150f is a tough sucker. i have beaten on that thing. Built it myself too, just used the marlin parts.
