Topic: 2019 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited AWD 4WD or Hybrid.

Ok got a co-worker that has a 2019 jeep with lots of questions.

Only thing that has me scratching my head.
The selector for the transfer case has 2HI, AUTO, 4HI, N, AND 4LO.

I am thinking that his jeep has a center Differential and not a transfer case.
I talked the local jeep dealership and they were less then helpful. In fact they don't know a transfer case from a lug nut.

I am thinking it has a center diff like karen's 4runner or an AWD car. It would be rear wheel drive in 2HI, AWD in AUTO, 4HI locks the center diff and gives 4WD. 

Am I right or Wrong.  His Wife drives it in bad weather, and he has no idea how to use anything other then 2HI.

She already bound it up and stalled it in a parking lot this year. $800 for tow truck to come out.

it has a transfer case. Auto just means it will engage 4wd if it senses a certain amount /type of wheel slippage, otherwise it stays in 2wd.

Manual says how to engage and disengage selections, but no description of when or were each is used.  No warnings about using 4WD ( HI or LO) on dry pavement. So I guess they can try "AUTO" next time it snows and see if it hops or binds.
