I was planning to SAS my 3rd gen 4Runner in a couple of years, but after finding out you plan to make this kit for 3rd gen 4Runners / 1st gen Tacomas, you are giving me second thoughts. In the end, I want to run 37s, but I don't think the small 7.5" front diff could handle that. I know Brian Ellinger at Front Range Off Road made a custom long travel for his 3rd gen 4Runner and swapped in a front diff from a 4th gen 4Runner using custom diff mounts. Would a 4th gen diff swap be something you consider designing the kit around?

This is a very good idea you have here. I too would enjoy the ability to keep the ifs but with a bigger diff in my 01 taco

It will be part of the kit.

Any word on the pre production schedule for RCLT HD first run?

It seems I have some free time for the next few weeks.  Ready when you are :)

The specs on the RCLT (non-hd) mentions nothing about axles and the RCLT-HD says

QuoteRCV Ultimate Axle shafts strongly recommended

  • Does the RCLT (non-hd) version work fine with stock axles? With or without diff drop? I've read many forum thread where people say a lift over 2" rips their cv boots.
  • If I already have RCV axles, can I reuse them? Or do these need to be custom ordered from RCV? If so, what are the custom specs needed for the RCLT/RCLT-HD?
  • Let's say I need to order new axles right now, AND I want to order RCV axles, AND they need to be custom for the RCLT. Are there specs I can order the axles with that will work with my current lift (1.5-3") but also work when I install the RCLT?

Will the RCLT (non-hd) version require 17" wheels like the HD version does?

I understand that the focus is on getting the promised products to market for the platforms that you have planned right now. That said, are there any plans to release this product for the 100 or 200 series Land Cruisers? I have an Icon Stage 7 suspension on my 100 right now, but I would totally buy this right now if it was available for my 100. I also understand that it would require just a bit of additional welding to complete a shock mount.

Well, I now have long travel coilovers, body mount relo kit, and 37x12.50R17s at the house.

So I guess you can say I am pretty serious :P

With RCLT HD you shouldn't need to re locate the body mount for 37's as far as what I've read.

Also... June is the latest hope to release date. Talked to Trevor today. Prices he gave me were 6999 for the kit, 700 for the rack, either 300 or 2000 for axles depending if you do just outers or RCV axles, and then the price for coilovers.

On the subject of the steering rack: steelcity stated that you're utilizing the Tundra/200 series rack and "srengthenong" it. What all is strengthened within the rack, or is it just a factory rack with custom rod ends and heims?
Not trying to knock the innovative or work you've put in developing this product, but I also like to save cash where I can in bigger projects.
Looking forward to this actually coming to market. I'd like to run a bigger tire on my FJ Cruiser, and I don't like any of the "options" out there that leave me worrying about TRE's every trip.

I'm aching to do this! I have beadlocks on the way.  This wait is costing me money lol

@BigMike Just in case it hasn't been done already, I'll throw my hat in the ring if you need a 3rd Gen 4Runner to prototype the RCLT, RCLT HD kits when the time comes. My '97 would be more than willing to be a guinea pig!
