Crunched my rig
« on: Jan 23, 2019, 02:11:23 PM »
On New Year's day I was on a run called Tour De Sober on BC-109 up past Pine Mountain Club and was having a blast on the way back from the end of the trail when the dry riverbed wall bit my rig.

The thing just crumpled as she kept going straight even though the wheels were at full left lock, the axles were locked and the front had no traction while the rears pushed her forward into the riverbed wall.
It took a few weeks to be able to buy a fender and it is a 2wd fender at that but, it fits the truck and was affordable.

The damage was minimal and easy to fix.

I used a come along and a lump hammer.

After checking the fitment, I painted the fender orange and put it on the truck.

Now all I need is a headlight bulb, corner light and that tube bumper so I have a place to mount the signal lights.

Dude that sucks. But you got it all fixed up so that's good. I got a kick out of you painting the fender orange :)

Speaking of orange, what's up with all the oranges everywhere :headscratch:

Glad you got it fixed up!  I did similar on mine after a deer played chicken with me on the highway.  Blocks of wood and the factory jack and all was pretty well realigned

A marker light and some adjustment screws & springs are en route so I only need a headlight bulb my next door neighbor will bring home from his auto parts store. I am almost ready to head to the Hammers, it should be a blast.

I have 5 orange trees and it was just picking time but, I do not pick oranges because I do not eat them nor do I drink much orange juice so they all fall on to the ground and then I clean them up one time. I like to run them over with the lawn mower and make the yard smell like orange juice, the juice actually breaks old grass down and helps keep the mower clean. Giggity

We are rolling again, I just need a bumper so crunching will not happen again

Those are motorcycle signal lights, they work well for something that was sitting still new in the package in the bottom drawer of the tool box for more than 10 years.
