gear drive t-case noise
« on: Jan 13, 2019, 10:27:00 AM »
my t-case is making a vibrating noise right where the twin sticks are at. when im coasting or slowing down its gets louder but when im gasing it or in neutral the noise is gone. i can feel the vibrating noise if i put my hands on the
shifters. my t-case was built last year with 4.7 gears and has been fine until recently. any info would help, thanks
built lastnight, crawl today...

Wow
I like your 4runner a lot.
I would suspect a bearing failure.
It’s going to need to be torn down to find the answer.

Double check the DL and rear diff before you get crazy about tearing down the case.
Your symptom sounds more likely a pinion bearing.
hold this. . .

Yea but the noise is coming directly from the t case. I can hold the twin sticks and feel like a grinding or something inside
