Mitsubarushi Build
« on: Dec 17, 2018, 08:23:35 PM »
I wanted to get this out there and show that great ideas come in many packages. I stated my build with an idea that was spared from a mini truck forum. Someone on there wondered if a boxer engine could be fitted in a KEI truck, like the 660cc ones with 45HP. I owned a 1997 Daihatsu Hijet truck I used on the acreage. It worked well with small ATV tires on it. But I wanted bigger :hammerhead: and more powerful. So I decided to mash a subaru impreza engine and suspension with a 1992 Mitsubishi Minicab with Toyota transmission and t case. I had the impreza already as an ice racer so I got a mini truck with a worn out engine for a good price and got going.
Here a some pics of the tear down. And journey to today when It finally is sitting on the front tries holding up itself. Next keep moving back and get the rear suspension finalized.

All its showing is a bellhousing. But this sounds pretty sweet. I had a fleet of hijets here at work. I have a Cushman very similar to them.
