88 Toyota 4Runner engine... To swap or not to swap?
« on: Dec 01, 2018, 02:19:01 PM »
Hey guys it’s been a while since I’ve posted anything on here. It’s been about 15 yrs since I’ve had a Toyota. I just picked up a 1988 Toyota 4Runner SR5 with the V6 and engine is knocking real bad. Going into it I was planning on replacing the engine. Should I try to find another 3.0, 3.4 or go for the 4.3; stay gas or go diesel, something else? What do y’all think?

3.4 swap, you should be able to find a donor Runner for what it would cost you to rebuild the 3.0.
