Did you remove the shifter base. May see a bit more

No, just the shifter. I can clearly see something rotating then stop with it in gear, once it stops it locks up and won't rotate at all and will kill the engine. A little more info on the shifter, when shifting the front case into low the shifter will continue past the normal spot it rests at like it is pushing the gear further than it is supposed to.

So I know it has been a while and I have had it fixed for a while so that I could go to KOH but I thought I may let everyone know what was the issue with my tcase and unfortunately I think it is a design flaw in the shift rod. What happened was the welded, cut and trimmed rod snapped where the trimming of the plate that the shifter mates to. From what I could see the plate requires to have a cut in it for clearance, that cut created a weakness in the plate that over time and heavy use will work back and forth until in snaps. The fix is to weld a small piece of metal on the rod instead of using the plate no clearance needed.
