W56-d Shifter Base PN
« on: May 16, 2018, 12:24:26 PM »
So I did a stupid thing that we'll just gloss on over (too much beer makes me not smart) and I broke the transfer case shifter socket on my W56-d. It's the type with a shared baseplate for transmission and tcase, forward shift. The broken part is the baseplate where the tcase shifter sits, the lip that holds tension against the spring in the shift socket. I can't seem to find the part number on the dealer website or anywhere else. I looked at MCs short shift kits, but they don't offer one for the D ('92) model. Am I just screwed? It's a sort of clean break, I could potentially have a shop try to weld it back together, but I'd rather just replace it.  If anyone has the PN I'd be insanely grateful.

I do not believe that Toyota still sells that part, and I dont know of one in the aftermarket world.  You can check with Toyota dismantlers like TAP or YotaJims, see if they have a good used base.
