Hi all new to forum old to toyota trucks
« on: Apr 08, 2018, 05:37:59 PM »
Hi all,

Joined your site this weekend, been reading off and on for the past year and seemed to be the place to find out more about a 2RZ conversion I've been considering. I'll try to give you all some history of my project.

About 2002 I got a 2wd 1980 SR5, and proceeded to convert it to a 4wd with the parts of my rotten 84 and a few others parted out over the years. The truck currently has a 20r and a W56 with 4:88 V6 thirds and a quick lock in the rear.  The truck has been used for play up in Silver Lake at the sand dunes, and some mud and trail rides in Grayling.

Well the engine needs timing chain guides and could use freshing up, also have a 84 22r that have considered swapping the 20r head, that was bout 5 years ago, still sitting on a engine stand.

About a year ago I picked up a 2001 2wd auto Tacoma for 400 bucks, same color as my 96 Tacoma which is starting to rust out body wise. The donor was rust free execpt the frame, hence the price. Well it runs so good I started to read your site and the many threads regarding the swap.

Well thanks for the knowledge so far and look forward to utilizing your site on my build.

Regards,
Jim,
1980 Toyota SR5 4x4, W56, 4:88's
1996 Tacoma 4x4, W59, 4;88's
