2TR-FE Bellhousing Options
« on: Apr 07, 2018, 06:29:55 AM »
Hi all,

I'm thinking about doing a 2TR-FE in my 1980, and want to understand my trans options

I have a W56 in my truck, can I use a Bellhousing from a Tacoma (W59) to mate the 2?

Also the posible donor has a R155, could this be adapted to a early Toyota gear to gear 4 cylinder transfercase?

Thanks for the information in advance.

Regards,

Yes you could use a w59 bell housing. I have one I would gladly trade you for your 2tr bellhousing.
I'm not sure about using the r155 with a Tacoma afaprtet to use rf1a case. That may need to be called in to Marlins shop and ask him yourself.

Hi all,

Well after talking with the guy who had the donor I was debating about, he had started selling parts off of it so, back to my original plan, a 2RZ, last year I got a 2001 2wd auto that the frame was gone, since then I've been checking out threads and other options, hence the eyeballing the 2TR-FE,

Redneckcustoms13, would you be wanting to sell that w59 bellhousing, and do you have the clutch fork?

I do it is in a running truck I havent pulled yet. I don't have time to pull it any time soon but if your not in a rush I can let you know when I do pull it apart.

If that guy is parting thar 2tr out can you see if he would sell bellhousing and clutch fork?

Hi,

Yeah no hurry, so let me know, my donor is a 2rz, so I need everything for a stick, bell housing, clutch fork, flywheel, and hydraulics if you're parting it out. Also looking for a manual trans ECU if its s 2001

I will text the guy if he's interested I will pass along his info, though I'm still a newbie here so I may have to post more. Its on the Detroit Craigslist just search 2009.

I am in Michigan so will have to see what shipping works out price wise 48444, just let me know.

It will be quite some time. I'd say at least 6 months. I have too many other projects going to fool with that one yet.
