Anybody have some tire weights?
« on: Apr 08, 2005, 11:49:46 AM »
I'm looking to bump up to some larger tires.  I was planning on running some 37" MTR's but am kinda throwing the idea around about running some SS SX's 38*12.5.  I am also curious about the 36*13.5 Iroks.  Anybody have a list of the popular tire sizes and their weights?  The reason I'm asking is that I'm worried about getting a SS TSL or SX and having them weigh too much for my weak little 22R with a crapload of miles on it.  I plan on regearing to 5.29's.  It's not a daily driver but will be driven to the trails here in CO.  Some of the mountain passes kick my truck's butt now stock with 31's

Thanks for the help  :turtle:

We could just pull off one of my tires and weigh it :eyebrow:

The interco site does not give any tire weights,,but any thing radial will weigh more then a bias..

Sx's are pretty heavy compared to most other tires since they are steel belted and have monster lugs/side biters.  My 38.5x14.5's on 15x10 steelies with Longfield weld on beadlocks and 2 full shots of BB's weighs in at 133 lbs....  The iroks are supposed to be a lighter tire than many of the other lines of interco tires.  Id say of all that you listed the mtr's would be the lightest.
Full hydro, 186:1 with an auto and 44's what could go wrong??

I kinda like the MTRs.  Aggressive, but not too aggressive, looks like a decent trail tire.

P.S. If your worried about your motor being underpowered, how about an intake, header and exhaust, and cam shaft!

I bet you that a 37" MTR is lighter than a 36" TSL SX or an Irok
