Have an 85 4runner with a 22re, I cant figure out for the life of me what is not working. engine starts runs for a moment or two then dies. it then will not run again unless I wait a few minutes. almost like there is not fuel. fuel pump is new and filter there is good fuel pressure , new AFM , both the thermo switch one is new other the cold start switch tests good, I cleaned the cold start injector. new cap rotor and wires. new plugs, all the fuses are good , the replays seem to be good, cleaned the grounds.
one other strange issue is there is no check engine light, good bulb and the foils seems to be test okay with a Ohm meter. at the plug I do not see anything at the wire for the check engine light ?
ECU but everyone says the ECU rarely go bad, anything I can check before going after the ECU... is there a place to check the codes at the ECU ? What else might cause it to start then die?
