Issues installing gear ring on yukon air locker
« on: Nov 04, 2017, 05:36:49 PM »
Everything has gone pretty smoothly until I tried installing the new ring on the locker. It just won't go on. I have 2 kits and have tried combinations of rings and lockers thinking maybe there was an issue with one of them and have the same problem every way. It has been oiled, warmed up the ring hoping for it to expand a little, hit it with a mallet...no luck. All of the install videos I've watched the ring basically fell right on. Maybe a couple taps on it if it stuck a bit.

Any tips?

I just went through this and mine basically fell on. However I know arbs are often a light press. Make sure it's going down evenly

I will say probably the most crucial thing is to not tweak the copper air line out of the metal collar. That caused me hours of issues trying to solder it back air tight
