Oil pan....Gasket?
« on: Apr 07, 2005, 03:25:52 PM »
My oil pan is leaking oil so I went down to the parts house and bought an oil pan gasket for $9.98.  My buddy told me that I had to pull my entire front suspension out to do it, so I looked in the manual and it did not say how to do it but I did notice that it does not take an oil pan gasket so will it hurt to put the gasket on and do I have to drop out my a-arms and brackets to do it?

I never use a gasket. I use the Toyots Seal Packing 102 (FIPG). Toyota P/N 00296-00102
If you have an IFS lift you may have to drop the diff. I have loosened the motor mounts & lifted the engine with a hoist to remove & replace in this situation. Drop the pan, pull the strainer & pull pan.
