Hello all, the photobucket thread has gotten some new bites, so I figured I would make a topic to help people not familiar with image hosting sites. You can use the forum's attachment resource, but any camera I use takes too great of a picture. That means I have to take a moment to manually resize every photo.
For this guide I will be using Imgur. Imgur is my personal favorite because it is very light weight, and there isn't a ton of commitment. You don't need an account to get started so head on over to "
imgur.com". You CAN create a free account which will make it easier to find your other pictures, but to this day I still do not have an account with them.
Once at
imgur.com, there will be a green/mint button that says "New post"
Click that, and you can either drag your photo over or browse your computer for the photo. I prefer the latter, but the first method is more user friendly. you can drag multiple images to create an album.
So let's say you have the image of your TOYOTA on your desktop, click "New post", "Browse", navigate to your desktop, and double click your image. it should start uploading, and you're nearly done. To host the image to the forum, you need a few extra steps. You need to right click on your image and select "View Image". This will get you to the true URL of your image and allow you to properly insert the image into your build page.
Then, you copy the URL and paste it into your write-up/reply
at first it will look like this,
http://i.imgur.com/zK7CXxH.jpg. You need to add image tags. the easiest way to do that is to first highlight the link you posted, and then click the little portrait under the italics button
Now sometimes if your image is too big, the forum will resize it automatically. My phone takes a picture that is roughly 2700x1500, so I like to make my images 800x450. here is the result of this guide :
