Denso vs ngk?

I'm trying to decide the best plugs for my fully built hybrid motor. I've read that some people think ngk is the best, and some people swear by denso. I was looking at the denso iridium tt  and they look good, but I would appreciate some input. Since my motor is a hybrid, I want to avoid the dreaded ping by putting some super hot spark plugs. The cost does not matter to me.

OK I have a little valuable input for you.  I typically use the standard autolite 64 because they are cheap, available and read well.  I tried a set of denso, they were certainly nice and make you feel good but there was no performance difference.  The denso plugs seemed to wear down faster.

I have used NGK in the past but it was before I paid attention to anything. I'm sure they are fine plugs.

I used to buy gimmick plugs, and iridium and platinum will last longer, but as a general rule I like to use standard copper plugs, especially if you are tuning into a hybrid.  You will want to change plugs a lot when you make big changes for a fresh read.  Plus copper plugs are cheap, always available on the shelf and I like to change plugs about twice a year on general principals because it keeps you in the know on how you are running, rich, lean, oily, coolant-ee.

Some guys go one step hotter and gap them out more which seems to work good for EFI (for example an autolite 65 gapped at .45), but I have found the standard heat plug gets the best read when you look at the strap to check heat range.

At one point when I first got into my hybrid and I hadn't messed with jets yet I had a pinging problem but I was able to cure it by running autolite 63s, which were one step colder than stock specs, gapped a bit smaller than stock.  I picked up that trick on an old Mercedes forum.

I agree with H8PVMNT.... excellent commentary!

I've tried most all of the various brands over the years, including iridiums.   The plats and iridiums typically have a longer life.  I tend to install what the factory specs.  If you are tuning, then installing the basic copper plug is a good idea and plug readings are important.  I think changing spark plugs once a year (15K to 20K miles) along with the cap & rotor is a cheap investment for keeping your engine running in good tune.  I also prefer a quality set of wire core spark plug wires.

Although there's lots of debate and opinions on spark plugs, I don't recall being able to notice a difference in one brand to the other.

Regarding temp ranges, I would make those changes carefully.

Good ol' copper spark plugs work fine.

I think you can't go wrong with denso or ngk

but, I would pass on all the extended life, special metal, multiple electrode stuff -- changing it at proper intervals is better than any amount of "extras"

I know that bestgen has a strong preference for Toyota wires.

I tried several different types in the 91 22re 2wd over the first couple years of owning it in an attempt to gauge real world mpg comparisons.  All got the same mileage except for the bosch platinum +2
