Shifter boot pattern?
« on: Jun 16, 2017, 02:23:40 PM »
Hey all, I was wondering if anyone has, or knows of a pattern to sew up a new shift boot.
The one in my 85 is old, torn, and cracked.

Take fabric.
Cut into 3 or 4 elongated triangles.
Stitch sides and grommet the top elongate to match distance needed.

Really easy to measure just take apart your old one by cutting the stitches and duplicate.

What material you doing?

If you undo the seams on the current boot, you can use it as a pattern.

'91 Blue X-cab 22re, 35's/5.29's,Truetrac front, ARB rear, dual cases, and custom Safari flatbed, bumper, interior.

He's trying to match the material pattern and if he duplicates the size and shape of the disassembled boot he will be able to make it the same. Worked for me several times.
