A common misconception I've encountered among dog owners is that it's fine for their dog to eat long pieces of grass. My parents' golden retriever once eluded our supervision and ate enough long grass that it caused her intestines to telescope while trying to digest the long grass, causing an emergency trip to the vet (fortunately, she was fine after surgery, and we kept her under close supervision afterwards).
