Hi yota buddies
My 93 toyota pickup 4x4 with 3.0 let me down the other day. Fuel pump quit pumping. Fast forward, installed new pump and hanger body only to find the new pump doesn't pump either.
Rolled back the old pump it works when powered directly to battery.
Do have voltage at fuel pump feed by tank when actuated by opening the trap door on air meter body thing.
But will not run the pump. Yeah...
Any ideas?

I messed with a 4runner for a couple months trying everything.  I finally replaced the fuel pump even though the one in it would run and move fuel it wouldnt hold pressure

Funny the guy at dealer where I got mine from said they never go bad, and also stated that the pump basket cap assembly is usually the problem, now I have an extra denso pump at 24 years old and works fine....

because you already replaced the pump and it didn't fix it and you say you have voltage at the pump with the door open then either you're not getting enough amps (damaged wire from circuit open relay to pump or bad relay) or bad ground to fuel pump
Agreed. Hardest part is tracing the fuel pump feeds back to their origination. I had a schematic that was shared on here many years ago and the link got pulled down.
We have a voltage leak some where and trying to figure it out. Grounds cleaned constantly. As everyone should know 99% of the time one poor ground can create problems that don't make sense.

Ok I figured it out. One of the many joys of buying an old truck. Positive fuel feed wire had bad splice. Oxidation poorly sealed.
Unfortunately I cut that wire in the cab and ran a new wire and ground to proper wire + side. Where I didn't see the voltage drop. Cleaning things up after the bomb went off.
