Twin Stick Transfer - no 4wd light?
« on: Feb 08, 2017, 07:01:08 AM »
Hello,

I have a twin stick transfer kit installed on my OEM transfer case, and the 4wd light on the dash doesn't work.

When you install these, do you lose the 4WD indicator? Should I be looking at a faulty sensor or burnt out bulb?

The vehicle is a Toyota Prado, 3RZ, W56 5 speed manual.

Thanks,

Luis Ugueto

You shouldn't have an issue wirh the indicator light due to having a twin stick. 1st craw under the truck and make sure it is plugged in. If so unplug it them take an ohm meter and check continuity with the shifter in 2wd and then in 4wd. If it isnt happy there, put a small jumper wire in the plug and see if your 4wd light comes on. If so you have a bad switch

If it still doesn't illuminate check the bulb and then check for power to the bulb.
