Definitely an experience I don't want to repeat with out a full cage. Flipped a full 369 and landed on its wheels

I walked away, with only a few scratches on back. Passenger snapped his arm, between shoulder and elbow. It was crazy

Well let's bring this build back.

First off, rip punkin, though, that rig continues to amaze me, I drove over to where I have it stored, jump started it(it has no battery in it), and that thing ran for 20 minutes even played looking like this,
So on to the good news, I picked up a new rig yesterday. It's a 85 4Runner that at some point in a past life was a serious wheeling rig. those are the only two pictures I have of it currently. But it has a solid axle (duh it's an 85) but it looks to me that it got moved forward at some point. It also has Chevy 62 in springs on the rear, some sort of locker out back, and at one point was running natural gas.
At one point it had duel cases, it has a hole  in the floor already for the rear case
Down side is the because it ran propane at some point, it no longer has the gas tank. Also has no drive shafts, and I think someone cut a lot of the oem harness. And they took the coil out. And a :pokinit: load of other stuff. If only I hade a doner rig with all of that. Of wait ;)
So that's the plan, punkin is gonna get carved it to and have all of its guts laying in my garage for a while now.

It will be. But not that much compared to a body swap, plus a sas on punkin, and it's hard to find good condition cheep 4 runners here in Colorado

find a cheap body that still has a harness to swap onto the 85. may be worth your time more. and then part out anything you dont need.

The ass end of the frame has been modified, I'm not sure stock Body would fit.

I'm guessing this is the 85 in the pic, judging by the green flasher box that your 87 wouldn't have. I'm pretty sure that plug connects the engine harness to the dash harness, I could be wrong as the plugs on my 88 are different but I know thats something they changed in 87

Sounds about right....

Ya that’s the 85 in the picture.... good to know that I need to rip more of my dash out. Thank you.

Hey no problem, In my opinion your best off taking the full harness from the 87 and transferring it over. Its a bit of a task but easier than splicing harness's together

Ya the entire engine harness is being replaced Because the 85s was cut to do a propane kit. And my 87s dash is a tight as hell...

Ok soooo little update for those that still think I’m not an idiot, punkin has been torn apart (mostly) a few things here and there left to do but I have the engine harness and dash harness completely out. I brought the 85 to my house today and been doing some little stuff to it, I took the doors and top off but I had a few questions for you guys, 1 is that an old marlin logo?

And the second is an opinion question for you guys, brown or grey dash?

My sliders don’t have a kick out at the back like the new marlin ones. As well as it looks like the new ones have the turtle plate in the very first hole, the ones I have has it in the second

Only issue I have with a grey dash I don’t have a good grey dash pad. But I will be putting in the grey structure of the dash

Question, are the e brakes from a  ifs the same as a solid axle?

That might sound super dumb, but I’m just not seeing where they mount on the sa truck
