I ran my BFG's for 7 1/2 years and 62k miles on them with rough wheelin'. Rubbing the sidewalls off until they wouldn't hold air anymore was the only reason I got new tires, totally my fault, not the tires. would buy them again, KO2's or KM2's. I still like the STTPro's too. :twocents:

I think maybe it us drivers that have terrible issues with failing the sidewalls, not the other way around :).  That being said, I have never seen anyone destroy a PB tire.

I'd say that is a statistical outlier and I'd love a chance to personally judge his skill as a driver!

As I recall, he had the "no questions asked warranty", and put it to good use, a moderator on another forum repremanded us for discussing the benefits of the warranty when it came to tread wear:laugh:

Over the years, my buddies and I have ran close to 100 BFG tires, and have had just one sidewall cut all the way through, of the other brands ran(about 30+ tires), just 3 cut, 2 MTR's, and an IROK.

I've ran MTRs 1st/2nd gen. Both are badass tires on/off-road. Ran the 1st gen back home in Oahu, Hawaii. It went over reef, rock, sand, rutz, and mud without any problems.

Then I moved to WASHINGTON state. The PNW and I got a 80series LC stock, then put a lift with 35MTRs. Those tire are also good at everything you throw at it. It also had good road manners in the snow and rain.

Sold the LC thinking I'm making the right decision, but no I was wrong. Then I bought a stock 98 4Runner. Lifted it and ran 285 Duratracs because the MTRs were on back orders. 1st run with only 500 miles I come home and my wife notices a 5" gash on my front passenger sidewall. I get the tire replaced and sell the whole set of 5 to a guy in California. Now I'm running KM2s. Ran them in the mountains 3runs and it performed great. The rain is back in WA, so I'm taking the on ramp going on the loop at 25mph, just before I take the last turn my truck hydroplanes and I spin 1 full circle. That spooked the :pokinit: out of me. My truck is heavy and I thank god I didn't roll. I'm thinking of siping the tires so it doesn't happen again. Now I just drive slow on turn, more so when it's wet.

Nice rides man! If I went with the BFGs I would probably get the inner lugs siped, any rain issues with the MTR? I think im the only one on the planet that wants the smaller size of the bfg lol 37s=actually like 36s

We ran duratracs on the chase trucks and crew buggies when I worked for the forest service. We seemed to go through them pretty often with gashes and flats. The trucks were pretty heavy but it wasnt like we were wheeling them at all

I've never had a problem with hydroplaning with my KM2's. And I used to live in WA and go down to Portland and Salem.

:yesnod:  not a tire I recommend anymore for people actually using their rigs off road.

Same. I drive from South East Vancouver, to WSU-V North of Vancouver daily, with frequent trips to Portland. Ran KM2s for almost 2 years straight. Zero issues with hydro planing... Including this spring when I had no bed from January 1st until May. No weight on the rear, no hydro planing

Maybe because my truck is 3000lbs as a DD. Add another 500 when camping!

More weight on the tires should mean that they're less susceptible to hydroplaning
