« on: Jun 13, 2016, 02:00:57 AM »
Has anyone ever done 3 base line pulls to see what the changes have done
Eg.
1st pull, Stock tyre size with stock ratio 3rd
2nd pull, bigger tyres with stock ratio 3rd
3rd pull, bigger tyres different ratio 3rd to make total ratio same as stock

1) -A little less than you need.
2) -Way less than you need.
3) -Somewhere in between.

That would be interesting though.

It's so true,
I see all the time, shock, big wheels, big wheels and chip,
From chip makers to make the product look good, but if you can get same results from a 3rd change is what I want to find out,

In regards to gearing:  Yes do it.  I have messed with the typical HP adding mods over the years with a 22re and nothing, I mean NOTHING takes the place of proper gearing.  Re-gearing to match your tire size will do so much more than any typical power adding mod.

The only exception would maybe be if you swap to a turbo diesel or some kind of V8 which would want the higher gearing realized from larger tires.
