My younger son Jacob has wanted a 1st gen since I got mine.  Earlier this year I got  deal on an '83 longbed with a rod through the block.  It came with a good '85 22re, a W56 and gear drive t-case and a complete 1980 2WD, all for a few hundred bucks!

I never said anything about it because I wanted it to be a surprise, but I decided to give Jake the '83 for his 11th birthday.  He was surprised. Of course he still has to make it run but he has a few years...

pretty sure the tow rig is supposed to weigh more than the towed vehicle!

I towed my Lancer on a dolly with a 05 Durango with a Hemi, and was a little scared, lol

Well I only went like 40 mph all the way home.  Still pretty sketchy.  I think it weighed slightly less than the 2 round bales of alfalfa we usually haul ;).

This is in no way related to his build except that everybody knows 1st gen pickups are good luck for fishing.  Jake caught 7 trout out of the creek the other night in like 30 minutes...
