My name is Ray and I have an 85 Extra-Cab that is now locked front & rear and the newly rebuilt front has Marlin seals & gaskets.

I was just out in Barstow wheeling with the Scouts West club and had a bunch of fun and now need to do some more upgrades so I will not have to bypass any parts of the trail.

'85 Xtra-cab, 4.5" Downey Off-Road lift, 12-15 KM2's on American Racing Baja's, Marlin's-4.88's & 4.7's, Downey Off-Road CAI, Marlin rear bumper & sliders

Since I got this truck almost 2 years ago I have rebuilt and or replaced everything except the transfer case and main transmission but, I am putting in dual transfer cases in the next couple of months and she gets 33s next month, I screwed up when I ordered my BFGs and only got more 30s. Inexperience will get me every time.

Sliders from Trail Gear.

Lock-Right in the 87 rear end.

Used V-6 3rd member with a limited slip locke up front.

Having the friends I am lucky enough to have makes doing jobs like rebuilding the solid axle possible.

So I ordered some stuff from Marlin yesterday when I signed up for this forum and this morning the box was on my front porch, how cool is that.

Aren't lockers a life changing experience? Better start a build thread now!

My 33s are finally in my possession and they'll get mounted today.

More goodies, awesome fun on the way.

You should just return those and go straight to 37s and save yourself some money. Trust me  :joke:

fasterspider

I'll get to 37s maybe but, I have to learn how to wheel 1st, I do not have enough miles under my belt in 4wd.
My rig gets more and more capable every week but, if my inexperience gets me broken down right away, where is the fun in that?

33 x 10.50

or

33 x 12.50

?
10.5, when I go to a bigger tire next year I'll go with the 12.5 width.
Price and affordability were a factor in this tire purchase due to my stupidity and inexperience when I bought my 1st set of BFGs that are just too small.

The 10.50s will still fit under the fenders, so you don't have to lift as much.........

I really like how she is looking now, her progress is steady.

I am going to pick up her Trail Gear rear springs today, the ass end is sagging beyond tolerance.

Be cautious with Trail Gear springs. Whatever they are advertised as they are at least 3" taller than that.

What he said!! I have tg 4" front springs and don't like then cause the are so tall.

SqWADoosh

They also are known to be very noisy and ride rough. I've never owned a set just relaying what people who I know that have, told me. Love my All-Pro springs. I know zippo and helipilot swear by old man emu. If I were in the market for springs right now I would buy Sky's manufacturing springs.

:)bestgen4runner

My front trailgear springs work just fine.

Don't trip fellas, I didn't get the TG springs after all.
I did get a pair of springs though, 4" lift and that should be about right.

All I know is they were in a 4Runner and now they are going in my Xtra Cab, used springs with no name as long as they work is good enough for my low budget rig.
