As usual always something to slow me down. Replacing the valve cover gasket on my 22RE and get to removing
The back corner nut and grommet when I noticed the nut wasn't coming off the stud but the entire stud was
Coming out with the nut.  When I got it out, the mechanic I had replace it many years ago must have crossed it
And just snugged it down and figured it would be the next guys problem. I guess I could re-use it just like he did
And forget about it, but I always like to do it right.  So my question is where can I find a replacement stud/nut?
Is this something Auto Zone or Napa would carry, or is this going to be a dealer item. Would like to finish it
Up tomorrow if I don't have to order the parts? Thanks in advance.

Is it actually stripped or did it just come out?

If it is stripped you need to address that, you should be able to find an oversized stud that will forcefully thread itself in, or you could do a time sert or helicoil

You could always use a bolt instead of the stud and nut.................................

Was able to get the nut off and clean up the threads good enough to re-use. Could not
find one here local and didn't want to wait.  It's all back together again, but going to order
A new one to have for the next time i have the valve cover off. Thanks for the help everyone.
