Wanted: Flatbed for '85 Toyota Pickup
« on: Jan 15, 2016, 04:58:09 PM »
Just seeing if there is anything out there. My dad is wanting to put a flatbed on his 1985 Toyota Pickup 4x4 and it will be much easier to just pick one up rather than make one. As is tradition.....the box on my Dad's '85 started rusting out quickly and was a piece of rusty :pokinit: by the early 90's. We swapped out that box with one from an '87 and that one didn't last long either and is currently on the verge of falling apart. We are both located in Northern Idaho but will travel to get something that is worth it. Shoot me an email or PM me if you have something you may be willing to part with. Thanks

Just my  :twocents:, I'd buy either a fiber glass one or find another one as I had the same problem and built a flatbed and honestly can't wait to put on a real bed again.

Yeah but have you seen some of these guys at airport security? Some of these guys would probably look straight at me and be like "Have a good day sir". Besides if Lindsay Lohan can get past airport security I feel pretty confident Haha. No but seriously i'm not too optimistic that i'll find anything, building one was the route I believed we would be heading in which isn't a big problem but picking one up would be one less thing the old guy has to worry about getting done. I don't think fiberglass will hold up too well with how he'll use it, besides he seems pretty firm on no regular beds, just a flatbed.

have you ever been to Australia's airports... they are hardcore.... they run background checks on anyone coming into their country..... any conviction of anything, and they put you on a plane back to where you came from

Like any conviction ever? Even if it's currently off the record? :(

They wouldn't let me drive a motor vehicle in their country... Even though I had a fully valid CA driver's license. I don't know how they pulled up my driving record...

That's not nice, you would think a nation that started out as a penal colony would be more accommodating of convicts.

Just kidding, I know all who left Europe for Australia weren't convicts.
