IFS Box, Hydro, Tapped then Capped?
« on: May 17, 2014, 07:14:11 AM »
1985 4Runner, 22RE, Manual

I am going to need to rebuild/replace my IFS Steering Box soon.

Can I use a box that is tapped for hydro but leave the fittings capped?  Not ready to install the a working hydro or ready to replace the PS Pump.

Just curious if I should get the box tapped so it is ready and waiting.

I'm assuming it should be fine to cap the ends but figured I would ask around first.

Any problems with doing this?

Is there anything else that makes sense to do when I am pulling the Steering Box?  Steering shaft, tie rod ends, etc?
