W56 Return Spring
« on: Jul 28, 2013, 01:54:40 PM »
When I took my old tranny out(L43) it had no return spring on the clutch fork and it worked fine but will I need a spring for the new W56 tranny or will it work without it?
Just put er' to the wood and it'll make it!!! -Dylan W.

The return spring depends on the type of slave cylinder. (self adjusting = no spring)

If you're using the same slave cylinder, you don't need the spring.

For some reason I couldn't get the old slave cylinder to work so I bought a new one for the year of the tranny (87) there are no threads on the shaft like the old one so I guess it is self adjusting. Correct me if I'm wrong.
